About Bardmaven

Bardmaven is a Texas-based independent publishing studio focused on tabletop roleplaying games. We believe the point of playing games is to have fun with your friends and family, and our mission is to help you get more fun out of the time you spend around the table. Our products are enjoyable to read, easy to use, and full of ideas that give players and Game Masters meaningful choices.

Our first release, The Sharper Visage Catalog, is a 108-page collection of 150+ magic items and oddities compatible with Fifth Edition. It also includes a reusable magic shop and shopkeeper NPC, 12 random shopping encounters, and guidance for making magic items more fun for players and Game Masters.

Who's behind Bardmaven?

Bardmaven was founded by Nathan Strange, a writer, game designer, and Game Master with more than twenty years of experience creating player-driven adventures. The Sharper Visage Catalog grew out of years of designing original magic items for his own games. Nathan lives in Texas with his wife and son.
